Peter Thomas Roth Taps Kelly Rutherford

The partnership will include digital initiatives and in-store appearances in the U.S. and abroad.

FAMILIAR FACE: Skin care brand Peter Thomas Roth has signed Kelly Rutherford as its first celebrity spokesperson. The partnership, which will officially bow via a print ad campaign in April and May consumer magazines, will also include digital initiatives and in-store appearances in the U.S. and abroad. “I would only align myself in a brand that I believe in and use and would feel comfortable speaking about,” said Rutherford, who coincidentally filmed a few scenes of Gossip Girl in Roth’s Upper East Side town house during the show’s 2008-2009 season. “It was fortuitous.” For Roth, the addition of a celebrity face, he believes, will help consumers connect to the brand, which industry sources estimate generated $250 million in global retail sales 2013. “We have been using a model in our advertising and I just think its so much more interesting to use Kelly, she’s fun, interesting, she’s a New Yorker and a mother of two and she’s just the perfect match for our brand,” said Roth. “We also believe she will resonate internationally because of the popularity of the show.”
