Jake Silverstein, editor in chief of The New York Times Magazine, has made his first major hire.
The editor nabbed Bill Wasik as deputy editor. Wasik comes to the Times from Wired where he served as a senior editor for four years.
In an internal memo to staff, Silverstein said:
"Bill comes to The Times from Wired, where he was a senior editor for the past four years, working on a wide range of stories about tech, business, science, politics, and other subjects. Prior to Wired, Bill was a senior editor at Harper's for six years, where he edited more than 30 cover stories.”
Wasik has also published two books, “And Then There’s This” and “Rabid.”
He will start his new job in July.
