NEW VOYAGE: In a late Wednesday afternoon appointment, Condé Nast named Pilar Guzmán, the editor of Martha Stewart Living, the new editor in chief of Condé Nast Traveler. She succeeds Klara Glowczewska, who held the title since 2005.
Guzmán was the founding editor of Condé’s Cookie until it folded in 2009. She most recently won a National Magazine Award for general excellence for Martha Stewart Living in the lifestyle category. Between her and new publisher Bill Wackermann, formerly of Glamour, Traveler has a new team at the top of its masthead.
In a statement, Guzmán name-checked new Condé artistic director and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
“I look forward to working with the Condé Nast Traveler team and particularly to drawing upon the insights and vision of the company’s artistic director Anna Wintour to catapult this legendary brand,” she said.
Glowczewska, Condé said in a statement, “will leave Condé Nast after many successful years of service.”
