The two director appointments fill the vacancy left by the departure last month of Michael Lafavore, Meredith's editorial director, who will return to consulting. Reporting to Lee will be Meredith's New York-based editors in chief, including Family Circle's Linda Fears, Fitness' Denise Brodey, American Baby Group editor Judy Nolte, and a soon-to-be-named editor of Parents. Lee will report to Publishing Group president Jack Griffin. Butler, who will remain editor in chief of Better Homes, will oversee Country Home, Traditional Home and Midwest Living and report to executive vice president Andy Sareyan.
Additionally, Jim Blume, who led Meredith's Food Editorial Group, was named group editor. The editors in chief of Country Home, Traditional Home and Midwest Living will report to Blume; Blume will then report to Butler. Finally, Dan Hickey was named vice president, digital content, and the editorial directors of Meredith brands online, including bhg.com and the Parents portal, will report to him. Hickey reports to executive vice president Doug Olson.
