COVER TURNS: There seems to be some flip-flopping at Vanity Fair among its upcoming covers. Sources close to the magazine say the stars of “Mad Men” were slated to appear on the cover of the August issue, but were bumped for Heath Ledger at the last minute and were then scheduled to appear on the September cover. Now it appears the “Mad Men” stars could be bumped again as sources say Vanity Fair is working on a cover or covers featuring both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. Sources close to the Fawcett camp claim a Vanity Fair reporter was sent to Los Angeles shortly after the actress’ death. Other sources say the magazine also scrambled to get a story in the issue on Jackson, who died on the same day last month. A spokeswoman for Vanity Fair said, “We don’t comment on upcoming covers, whether we’re running them or not.” — Stephanie D. Smith
