TWIT WITS: With texting, Twitter and Facebook, editors have more options than ever to stay plugged in during the holidays, whether they are visiting Harbour Island (where InStyle’s Ariel Foxman will be), in Utah (where Glamour’s Cindi Leive will be skiing with her kids) or, in the case of People StyleWatch editor Susan Kaufman, heading to exotic Kansas City, Mo.

Elle creative director Joe Zee, who will split his time between New York and Sag Harbor, N.Y., keeps his Twitter followers updated on everything from magazine shoots to last-minute holiday shopping: “At Sur La Table looking at coffeemakers (yes starting Xmas shopping now, don’t judge!), salesgirl asks me if I need a rice cooker. WTF! So I answer her and say, No thanks, but if you could point me in the direction of the chopsticks I’d appreciate that.”

Meanwhile, Dave Zinczenko is taking to Twitter with a few holiday dietary tips — “20 foods that should be tossed out of Santa’s sleigh” — and the occasional holiday service announcement: “Champagne corks travel as fast as 50 miles an hour. Resist the urge to shake, or throw a towel over the bottle.”

Martha Stewart shared a Twitpic of one of her dogs wearing a Santa costume to wish her followers happy holidays, and Arianna Huffington, who will be skiing over the break, took to Twitter about gifting. “Got a holiday basket from Michael Moore with cool stuff made in northern Michigan & a donation to Moratorium Now fighting home foreclosures.” But the holiday spirit hasn’t quite made its way to Bonnie Fuller of, who regularly takes to Twitter with penetrating questions about celebrities. Here’s a brain twister posted on Wednesday evening: “...Who would u run away from? David Hasselhoff? OctoMom? Michael Lohan? Linda Hogan? Balloon Boy’s dad?”
