LOOK WHO’S TALKING: As if Michael Kors isn’t busy enough, the designer is moonlighting as a journalist. He penned the cover story on Aerin Lauder for the summer issue of Aspen Peak magazine. Kors, who’s been friends with Lauder for nearly 20 years, conducts a Q&A with her about her new accessories and home company, favorite restaurants and shops in Aspen, charities, skiing and her modern Aspen home.
When Kors asks her who the Aerin brand customer is, she replies, “It’s probably the person who wears Michael Kors clothes. It’s someone who loves luxury and style and at the same time has a sense of ease.” While chitchatting about the Aspen lifestyle, Kors admits he hasn’t spent too much time on the slopes. “I can’t really ski. The only way for me to stop is to sit down. In my mind, unless I can be Audrey Hepburn in ‘Charade,’ on a terrace, that’s my only skiing moment — only après, not during,” says Kors.
