MUSICAL CHAIRS: Frédérique Dedet is the new editor in chief (magazine) of L’Officiel, effective Jan. 3. Dedet currently heads up coverage of people and fashion at Point de Vue, the French magazine that follows European royals and nobility.
“The fashion world is the new global ‘ghota’ (aristocracy in English.) You can see a rapper Kanye West sitting next to a princess Charlotte Casiraghi front row at a show. We are interested in both,” explained Benjamin Eymère, general manager of L’Officiel’s publisher, Les Editions Jalou.
Vanessa Bellugeon, Benjamin Eymère’s sister and daughter of Marie-José Susskind Jalou, president of Les Editions Jalou, remains editor in chief of L’Officiel for fashion. (Most French magazines list two or several editors in chief for various coverage areas.)
Point de Vue named last month Adélaïde de Clermont-Tonnerre as editor in chief, succeeding Colombe Pringle who became an advisor to the weekly magazine.
Meanwhile, Hervé Mikaeloff, an art advisor who has curated exhibits for fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, joins quarterly magazine L’Officiel Art as creative director, also published by Les Editions Jalou.
At the main L’Officiel, Dedet succeeds Daphné Hézard. Hézard left to become fashion and lifestyle editor at Harper’s Bazaar France, whose launch date is to be announced next month.
