HARPER’S NEW CUTTER: After a one-year stint at Harper’s Bazaar, executive editor Kimberly Cutter is leaving to work on her second novel. Her first, “The Maid,” about Joan of Arc, was published two years ago. Her successor at Bazaar is Stephen Mooallem, editor in chief of Interview magazine. Mooaellem, who has served as Interview’s editor in chief since 2009, will join Bazaar on Jan. 2.
“Stephen comes to us with great experience and a unique point of view that will continue to support the Bazaar mission to be timely but timeless,” said editor in chief Glenda Bailey. “I am deeply grateful to Kim for her invaluable contributions and commitment to Bazaar. We will miss her considerable talent and wish her all the best in her next endeavor.”
At Interview, Mooallem was responsible for developing special projects and extensions, overseeing the redesign of the magazine’s Web site and the launch of its iPhone and iPad apps, according to Hearst. The editor, who started at Interview a decade ago, also worked at Gear Magazine as a features editor and contributed to publications including Paper and Vibe.
