LONDON — i-D magazine has named stylist Alastair McKimm its first New York fashion director.
The London-based fashion title said McKimm's appointment was with a view to "expand i-D's unique editorial voice to a global audience, following the digital re-launch of the brand earlier this month."
The magazine’s new online guise launched last week at i-D.co, a Web site driven by video content which also features fashion stories and interviews from the print magazine.
A native of Northern Ireland and now based in New York, McKimm is a longtime contributor to i-D, and has styled campaigns for labels including Jil Sander, DKNY, Helmut Lang and J. Mendel. He will be based at i-D's soon-to-be opened offices in New York.
McKimm's appointment follows the arrival of Sarah Richardson as global fashion director of i-D earlier this month. Richardson replaced Charlotte Stockdale, who left the title to become fashion director of Garage magazine.
