BLONDE MOMENT: Hair care brand Sexy Hair has tapped Marilyn Monroe for its upcoming advertising campaign, called “Styles Change. Sexy is Forever.” The multimillion-dollar, multiyear deal will launch in October across online, outdoor and print outlets and will showcase the late starlet alongside Sexy Hair products like Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play, Style Sexy Hair Spray Clay. “One of Marilyn’s most famous quotes [is] ‘In Hollywood a girl’s virtue is much less important than her hairdo,’” said Karl Heinz Pitsch, president and ceo of Sexy Hair. “We couldn’t have asked for a better testimonial.” As part of the deal, the brand campaign will also include Monroe’s name and verbage, which along with her likeness, were licensed from Authentic Brands Group, which owns all the rights to the Estate of Marilyn Monroe. “By joining forces with Marilyn and using her image for our upcoming marketing campaign we hope to strengthen the sex appeal and allure of the Sexy Hair brand,” said Heinz Pitsch. According to the brand, Monroe’s “flair and spirit will influence all Sexy Hair collateral,” including its website and social media pages. Additionally, a special-edition product will roll out later this year featuring an additional aspect of Monroe’s life.
