CUTTER JOINS BAZAAR: Glenda Bailey had three holes on her Harper’s Bazaar masthead after the departures of several editors, including executive editor Kristina O’Neill, who left to become editor in chief of WSJ. magazine. Bailey’s recovery efforts begin today with the addition of outsider Kimberly Cutter, features director at Brides, to succeed O’Neill.
Cutter, who had been West Coast editor for W while it was still part of Fairchild, leaves Brides less than a year after she joined. That magazine has experienced some turmoil itself, losing its editor in chief, Anne Fulenwider, and scaling back to a bimonthly frequency in light of depressed ad pages.
Bailey hasn’t found successors for her other missing editors, including features director. Meanwhile, Laura Brown has received an in-house promotion — and presumably a raise — from director of special projects to executive editor of special projects.
