LONDON — Condé Nast plans to launch a U.K.-based multimedia bespoke publishing service for private individuals known as Condé Nast Portrait.
Portrait, a division of Condé Nast Britain’s Contract Publishing Division, will launch in August and offer hand-finished books, glossy magazines and digital projects created for clients worldwide.
It promises to tap into “the finest photographers, stylists, editors, film-makers and archive, creating a very personal story in the unparalleled Condé Nast style,” according to the company.
Natalia Kuznetsova-Rice, director of Condé Nast Portrait, said the tailored, high-end service “will cater for those with an enviable lifestyle who wish to own a ravishing publication or production, that will speak volumes about their lives.
“We have identified a strong demand for high quality creative publishing, and in many ways it’s no different to commissioning a piece of jewelry, a Savile Row suit, or an artwork. Condé Nast Portrait will attract those looking to make a significant investment in a unique personal creation,” she said.
Options will include coffee table books to commemorate anniversaries or achievements, combining existing imagery with shoots by leading photographers; a fashion or party shoot that uses the Condé Nast stable of stylists, and is presented in a magazine; family trees; bespoke magazines with cover shoots commissioned for a special occasion; filmed interviews with business people reflecting on his or her successes; and photographic books documenting the creation of a house, yacht or jet; or a catalogue raisonné of a private art collection.
Darius Sanai, editorial director of Condé Nast Contract Publishing, said Portrait is a “natural extension” of the publications that the division creates for hotel groups, retailers and luxury goods houses such as Mandarin Oriental and Ferrari.
