Carolyn Kremins Moving to Epicurious.com

Her move to the site is billed as a promotion to senior vice president and general manager.

NEW MOVES: Carolyn Kremins, the publisher of Condé Nast Traveler, is moving to head Epicurious.com July 8.

Kremins, whose official title was vice president and publisher, came to Condé Nast in the role of publisher relatively recently, in 2007, to launch the now defunct magazine Cookie. She then went to Brides for two years, and had been at Traveler since 2011.

The travel magazine finished 2012 nearly 6 percent down in ad pages, at 919, from the year before, and was experiencing a slight decline through June, according to Media Industry Newsletter. Her move to Epicurious.com, which is comprised of a much smaller team on the business side, is billed as a promotion to senior vice president and general manager. Beth-Ann Eason, who had held that role, is transitioning to svp, digital development and general manager at ZipList, a recent Conde acquisition that allows users to compile digital shopping lists from Web sites and apps; Epicurious and Bon Appetit are two of the sites that are featured on the service.

Kremins’ successor will be named at a later date, according to Conde. Her appointment precedes a widely expected reshuffling of publishers at several titles later this year that is likely to include the addition of former InStyle publisher Connie Anne Phillips to the company, though in what capacity is still not clear. Among the publishing ranks, Phillips is often mentioned as a candidate to succeed Bill Wackermann at Glamour magazine. In nearly two decades at Conde, Wackermann has held various positions, and at one point was associate publisher at Traveler. One of the other candidates mentioned for the Traveler job is David Stuckey, associate publisher, advertising at Vogue. Conde did not respond to requests for further comment.
