ARTISTIC VISION: Bottega Veneta is again turning to the art world. The Italian company has tapped New York-born artist and photographer Collier Schorr to shoot the brand’s “Art of Collaboration” cruise campaign, debuting in the December issues of international fashion magazines.

The images reflect Schorr’s signature introspective style, which mixes realism and fantasy to create an impact on the observer.

“Collier explores questions that are central to the work I do as a designer, and she does it with rare formal sophistication,” said Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier. “Her images reveal the individuality of each subject while capturing the gentle structure and ease of the collection. I especially like the nuanced way she used color, subtly underlining the palette that was the collection’s original inspiration.”

For example, the gray concrete wall and the beige stone floor, serving as a background for one of the campaign’s pictures, match with the black and caramel outfit worn by a model holding a textured caramel Cabat bag.

Bottega Veneta previously collaborated with artists including Erwin Olaf, Jack Pierson, Mona Kuhn, Robert Polidori, Alex Prager, Robert Longo, Nan Goldin, Steven Meisel, Larry Sultan, Todd Eberle, Nick Knight, Sam Taylor-Wood, Annie Leibovitz, Tina Barney, Lord Snowdon, Stephen Shore and Philip-Lorca diCorcia.
