ANOTHER CHANGE AT CONDÉ: Condé Nast on Monday named Patricia S. Rockenwagner senior vice president of communications. She will be in charge of the company’s public relations and corporate positioning strategies.
Condé had been expected to remake its pr department since the layoffs in October, which resulted in the exits of two senior employees, including corporate vice president Susan Portnoy. Rockenwagner, a native of Argentina, has had stints as corporate vice president at McGraw-Hill Companies, her most recent title, and Paramount Pictures. She was also chief of staff for Sen. Tom Hayden and spokeswoman for Sen. Art Torres, and worked as a staffer for the late Sen. Edward Kennedy. Rockenwagner will report to chief administrative office Jill Bright, while Patricia Steele, who will continue handling corporate media relations, will report to Rockenwagger.
