A QUIET CELEBRATION: After GQ style editor Adam Rapoport found out that he scored the top job at Bon Appétit on Friday, he didn’t use his new title to land the hottest table in town to celebrate. Instead, he went home and cracked open a bottle of Champagne with his first boss, Mitchell Davis, vice president of The James Beard Foundation. “I’ve really come full circle,” he told WWD. “I was emotionally spent and we just made dinner and had a fun night…nothing out of control.” WWD first reported Friday that Rapoport was in as editor in chief.

Rapoport said he’s not ready to discuss his plans for the magazine but noted that he’ll probably be there full time after Thanksgiving (he’s still working at GQ to ship the January issue, which will include a big package on best new restaurants). Rapoport spent the past 10 years at GQ, where he covered food, fashion, design, travel, film and music, and regularly wrote for the Forked & Corked blog on the title’s Web site. Before that, he edited the restaurant section at Time Out New York and worked as an editor and writer for The James Beard Foundation’s publications office. — Amy Wicks

QUITE A TRIO: Donatella Versace will be honored at Glamour’s 20th annual Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall next week. The magazine selected 16 honorees this time around, including Versace, Fergie (who will appear on three versions of the December cover) and Cher, who will get a lifetime achievement award. Those who score a ticket to the event will be serenaded by Janelle Monáe. — A.W.
