Michelle Obama is remaining loyal to her favorite hometown designer, Maria Pinto, for her prime-time speech at the Democratic National Convention tonight. Katie McCormick Lelyveld, Michelle Obama’s communications director, told WWD the potential First Lady has chosen a dress from the Chicago designer for her big moment in the spotlight. Pinto, who opened her first store in the Windy City earlier this month, already dressed Obama on several occasions on the campaign trail, including the purple shift dress she famously accessorized with a black Azzedine Alaia belt the night Illinois Sen. Barack Obama claimed the Democratic nomination. Pinto said the dress Obama is planning to wear is a turquoise blue, three-quarter-sleeve sheath-like, fitted, Fifties-inspired style in double-faced wool. But, as like any woman, Obama could change her mind at the last minute.
