Morning showers notwithstanding, a determined crowd showed up Saturday afternoon to listen to Rufus Wainwright and special guest Jessye Norman perform on the lawn at the Watermill Center in Water Mill, NY. Calvin Klein, Isabella Rosselini, Daphne Guinness and Steven Klein were among the audience at the Last Song of Summer concert, which benefited Robert Wilson’s performing arts’ center.

For some, it was their first introduction to the music of hipster chanteur Wainwright.

“I’ve never seen Rufus perform, but I’ve had dinner with him,” offered Klein, who is a longtime Norman fan.

As for Wainwright, he seemed to realize he was not in his usual milieu. “I’d ask you to sing along, but this is the Hamptons,” he said.

After the concert, guests joined the singers inside the center for Champagne.
