Marc Jacobs

Chalk it up to Marc Jacobs' late start, or a certain sense of fatigue with his semiannual party, but much of the fashion world found itself instead at The Bowery Hotel Monday night celebrating the publication of Mario Testino's latest book, "Lima Peru." There, the snapper spent most of the night air kissing the likes of Carine Roitfeld, Isabeli Fontana, Helena Christensen, Demi Moore, Mischa Barton and Sheryl Crow.

"Other photographers are like a one-night stand," said Courtney Love. "But Mario remembers Christmas, he remembers your birthday."

Crow had similarly fuzzy feelings. "He's so scrumptious and delicious," she raved.

Barton was less enthusiastic about the party. She said she'd rather be home watching "Animal Planet."

Downstairs at Gemma, a refreshingly intimate fashion week party was taking place for Alberta Ferretti, who showed her spring Philosophy collection earlier that day.

"This is what I want my place to look like when I'm rich," declared Paz de la Huerta of the artfully disheveled Baroque decor. A group of PYTs, including Tatiana Santo Domingo, sipped Champagne before sitting down for a dinner of seared tuna, salmon, roasted chicken and lamb.

Actress Alyson Hannigan, joined by husband Alexis Denisof, was still enjoying the buzz from her first New York Fashion Week. "I could never walk down a runway," she said, eyes widening. Though Hannigan did have her own fantasy moment: "When I was doing the fitting with Alberta and there was a mock runway, I just pretend walked down it and was like, 'Tyra, I'm ready for you!'" she laughed.

Rachel Zoe said a quick hello halfway through dinner and had Marley Shelton gushing over her very blonde locks.

"Rachel, you have to tell me about your hair," she insisted.

"It's just from the sun," Zoe said, somewhat implausibly.

By midnight, the fashion crowd was mostly getting ready for bed, save for the desperados heading to the Jacobs after party. As per the usual, the place was packed to the rafters with L train hipsters and downtown party boys, with a few aging rockers thrown in for good measure (Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, and Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran). Juergen Teller, who shoots Jacobs' campaigns, didn't exactly seem impressed with the guest list. "Everyone's trying really hard," he said. "But it's nice to say hi to my friends."
