Tom Ford was in Hollywood Thursday night for another screening of his first film, "A Single Man," which closed the AFI Fest at Grauman's Chinese Theater.

As friends Kelly Lynch and Mitch Glazer, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, Rita Wilson, Robert Evans and Brett Ratner filed into the theater, Ford handled the press line like an old hand. "The process of promoting fashion and promoting a film are almost identical. But they are different forms of expression; fashion for me is a commercial endeavor and this was the first thing I have ever done that was purely expressive," he said. "I hope to make a movie every two or three years. Certainly as often as I can. It's a kind of parallel career."

As Lynch put it, "He's like that kid who always gets an A in class. If he weren't my friend, I'd probably hate him."
