Miuccia Prada set out to prove fashion folks do read books when she celebrated the launch of her house’s first tome, “Prada: Creativity, Modernity, Innovation,” at her Rodeo Drive flagship.

The store was transformed into an Old English library, with trompe l’oeil wallpaper over everything save a few shelves of accessories.

“I wonder where they put all the clothes?” asked Christina Ricci as she looked around the third floor, which resembled a nightclub more than a boutique, packed with the likes of John Legend, Chloë Sevigny, Emma Roberts, Jessica Biel, Ginnifer Goodwin, Stavros Niarchos and Mario Testino.

Though she was fashionably late to her own party, the designer spent the evening perched on a mannequin display as she chatted up guests.

“I love L.A.; tonight is about fun, not work,” said Prada, who scooped up a dropped iPhone and was waving it above her head at nearby revelers.

“Is this anybody’s?” asked the designer, smiling slyly. “Maybe I’ll have a new phone.”
