Though Stilley's offer might have tempted some, a real magician, Dynamo, and a tarot card reader were on hand to entertain Alex Gore Brown, newly engaged to Jo Bamford; Petrina Khashoggi; Jasmine Guinness; Francesca Versace; Violet von Westenholz, and Poppy Delevigne.
"And you can't leave without seeing Mama Love tonight — I won't let you," Helayel told her guests, referring to the American psychic and Ibiza regular.
The night before, many a wish was surely conjured up at the preview of Philips de Pury & Company's Magnificent Jewels collection, which goes up for auction in Geneva on May 15.
"We wanted to edge it up," said Brooke de Ocampo of the inventive jewelry display set up at Dover Street Market. The store draped millions of dollars worth of glittering rings, bracelets and necklaces over shoelaces, boxes of pencils and clothes pegs in glass vitrines. Among those trying the jewels on for size were Cosima Pavoncelli, Noelle Reno, Lillian von Stauffenberg and Christine d'Ornano.
The same evening, Simon de Pury himself was across the Atlantic in New York manning a live auction at the jam-packed Milk Gallery for the eighth annual Free Arts NYC Auction Benefit, cosponsored by Dior and Vanity Fair. Though, as widely reported, honorary chair Scarlett Johansson was a no-show, her co-chair Liv Tyler was perfectly punctual.
"I got involved with this through Mary Alice Stephenson," explained Tyler. "It's really important that kids can express themselves creatively." Guests such as Jacquetta Wheeler, Donna Karan, Gilles Mendel, Irina Lazareanu and Patricia Velasquez perused the multimedia art in the silent auction, while Liev Shreiber and a very pregnant Naomi Watts arrived just in time to pose for pictures.
