As the unofficial last fete of the spring season, Wednesday night's Whitney Art Party, sponsored by 20 Years BCBG Max Azria, drew droves of minidress-clad girls to Skylight ready for their last hurrah. And while the chilly temps and threat of rain didn't comply, palm fronds and white banquettes inside the expansive space lent an air of summer for revelers like Gretchen Mol, Ali Larter, Lake Bell, Dree Hemingway, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman, Tallulah and Scout Willis, Maggie Grace, Sessilee Lopez, Hilary Rhoda, Lisa Cant, Ivanka Trump, Tinsley Mortimer, Zani Gugelmann and Genevieve Jones.

The central bar was quickly flooded, and a silent auction of works by the likes of John Baldessari, Terence Koh, Matthew Brannon and Marilyn Minter took over two side rooms.

Co-host Camilla Belle, in town for a 36-hour whirlwind, was hoping to pick up a few pointers.

"I took some art history in school, but I'm trying to learn more about the contemporary stuff," she said, though she didn't have any bidding plans that evening. "I'm more of a looker," she smiled, innocently.

Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn remained inseparable for the night—Sisterhood indeed—while Melissa George shimmied in a white Hervé Léger number.

"Do I look OK?" she asked. "I'm working—I'm definitely holding in my stomach."

Designer Max Azria, co-hosting for the third year in a row, explained his loyalty to the event, considering the many charitable options out there.

"You have to choose," he shrugged, as he relaxed with wife Lubov under a neon sign reading "Party." "It's a good party for a good cause."

Taking it all in (as just about every lady in the room took him in) was Bradley Cooper who over the past few weeks has seen his share of fashion to-dos.

"I'm such a little whore. I'm trying to go to every fashion party while I'm in New York," he grinned. "I went to the Costume Institute and it was amazing. And a few days ago I went with Italo Zucchelli to the CFDAs and he won."
