Gela Nash-Taylor and Pam Skaist-Levy

WATERMILL, N.Y. — The Juicys, aka Pam Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, sure know how to throw a good party. For their Eau de Couture perfume launch at a rented Watermill manse on Saturday night, they cheekily furnished and costume bejeweled an outdoor tent, passed pastel macaroons and watermelon cocktails and served enough peel-and-eat shrimp to deplete the Atlantic Ocean for a few months.

But blame Hurricane Ernesto (the weather in East Egg sure was crummy) or plain old Hamptons fatigue (it was Labor Day weekend, after all) — the bold faces in the crowd were generally less than, well, juicy.

While midevent a publicist was promising Diddy, Jessica Simpson and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the biggest name at that point was Olympic snowboarder Shaun White, aka The Flying Tomato, who, one supposes, is used to harsh meteorologic conditions. "Amy Sacco told me I had to come," White said between bites of shrimp piled high on his plate. "We hang out at Bungalow 8." (Sacco brought her DJ Coleman Feltes and was partly handling the guest list.)

Some New York socials did make an appearance — including Marjorie Raein, Fabiola Beracasa and Celerie Kemble — and Calvin and Kelly Klein, Isabel Rattazzi, Adam Lippes and Blaine Trump swung by at the 11th hour. Pity those who didn't brave the wind and rain, for this was one of the more laid-back and amusing parties of the summer, mostly due to the spontaneity of the Juicys themselves, who understand the high-low mix of what they're doing.

Though the fragrance is a mélange of all that's fresh and fruity in the world, like mandarin, pink passion fruit, green apple, tuberose and patchouli, Skaist-Levy and Nash-Taylor had another idea of what it smelled like. "Money!" shouted Skaist-Levy. "Money, mothaf---a!" Who can argue with that?
