While paparazzi were staked out on the street, Ryan Gosling and his sister Mandy whipped up lamb chops and chicken for guests including Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman, Balthazar Getty and Arianne Phillips.
Discussion over dinner, during which many smoked cigarettes at the table, discussion ranged from the trials of parenting to the merits of the iPhone versus the soon-to-be-released Blackberry Bold.
"I'd need at least a three-to-one nanny to kid ratio," joked Berman.
"Boys can be so much easier than girls," said Getty, a father of four. "Girls want to talk about everything all the time."
Many guests stayed to revel late into the evening, sipping Patron.
