When it comes to New York Fashion Week, sometimes it's possible to have too many industry friends. Actress Claire Danes found herself in just such a predicament Tuesday, when she was forced to choose between longtime buddy Narciso Rodriguez's show and the Versace party and dinner. Fortunately for Behnaz Sarafpour, no such conflicts prevented Danes from supplying the designer's runway presentation with ample star-wattage in the front row.

"It's actually pretty warm," she remarked of the Sarafpour cream-colored shift dress with black piping and two black-bow-trimmed pockets she was wearing.

"And these pockets!" she added, lifting the flapping attachments dangling at her hips.

Danes, who just finished filming "The Flock" with Richard Gere, was first introduced to Sarafpour by friend Selma Blair. "Her clothes are glamorous, without being ostentatious," said Danes. "And there's always something unexpected."

Lest others of Danes' fashion designer amigos get antsy, the actress also will be attending Zac Posen's show Thursday evening.

It sure isn't easy being popular.
