Halle Berry

Halle Berry slipped into the Ralph Lauren show Friday morning virtually unnoticed, wearing an equally low-key gray pantsuit from the designer's fall collection. The actress made it all the way to her seat in the intimate space built within Skylight Studios before the photographers swooped in for a quick shot — not that she allowed them to disturb her poise. "Ralph's clothes are very classic and that is just one aspect of my personality," explained Berry, who admires all things Ralph. "I'm the face of Versace right now, but a girl's gotta have more than one attitude." Surprisingly, although the luminous actress has graced many a glossy magazine, this was her first New York fashion show ever.

Seated next to her was Joy Bryant, looking a little more fashion-forward but equally beautiful in a navy and white horizontal striped dress from the cruise collection with riding boots, a shearling jacket and a cashmere scarf. "Ralph appeals to my preppy-posh side," said Bryant. "I went to boarding school so I love his stuff." The Westminster School graduate intended to relax after all the fashion week hullabaloo: She's starring in the indie flick "London" and was planning to round up friends to take in a screening of the movie Friday night at the Angelika Film Center.

Berry, meanwhile, was taking a break from filming "Perfect Stranger" with Bruce Willis and had her stylist Deborah Waknin and interior decorator, Patrick Delanty, in tow. She told Bryant she was a huge fan, and Bryant, not surprisingly, was over the moon because, in fact, she's an equal admirer of Berry's. New BFFs in the making?
