Chasing Amy: Where's the best place to find the newest, hot young Oscar nominee? In the front row of a fashion show, of course. The unassuming but critically lauded Amy Adams, who has been nominated for her performance in last year's "Junebug," settled into the socialite-swarmed Carolina Herrera show on Monday morning with boyfriend and publicist in tow. The redhead is no stranger to Herrera's ladylike designs, having recently worn one of her creations to the SAG awards.

"I had another dress picked out, but I saw Carolina's at the last minute and had to try it," Adams explained of her 11th-hour choice. "And once it was on, I was hooked."

Adams, in a Herrera pants and cropped jacket ensemble, said she is looking forward to spending more time in New York while working on "Enchanted," an animated Disney film, with Patrick Dempsey, Susan Sarandon and James Marsden. "It's about an animated girl who is released in New York and has to deal with life in the real world," she said. Not so far off from Herrera's pre-show scene, added the actress, who had been up since 6 a.m. reading a script. "This is definitely an animated world."

As for her upcoming Academy Awards appearance, the actress was mum about any Oscar gown preferences, saying, "I'm always looking." But she was definitely feeling the pressure of the impending flashbulbs ready to catch her every stumble on the red carpet.

"It's such a focus," she says of the fashion game that starlets must play. "But it's fun."

And Adams is clearly just as at ease appreciating the style choices of others. "Those boots are fantastic," she remarked to her seatmate Eleanor Ylvisaker.

Kempner's Nuptials: Tommy Kempner has quietly remarried, seven months after his wife, Nan, died. His new wife is Ann Bernhard, who's in her fifties and was his assistant for about the last 20 years. "We got married on New Year's Eve, in the apartment," Bernhard said, when reached for comment Monday. There'd been chatter about the two being involved ever since Nan Kempner's memorial in September, when Bernhard was seen standing next to Kempner. While some friends of Kempner's late wife questioned the length of the "grace period" between the memorial and the marriage, others said they were pleased. As one Nan confidante put it: "He's not young. He looks fine but he has a terrible back and his children are grown. If he was going to remarry, she's exactly what he'd be looking for. She's a very good-looking woman and she's not a socialite, which is a life he doesn't care about at all."
