Dance Dance Revolution at Armitage Gone! Event

New Yorkers got to channel their inner Sex Pistols at Capitale Tuesday night when the dance company Armitage Gone! held its annual benefit, the theme of which this year was Think Punk!.

Though a slew of safety pins, leather motorcycle jackets and torn stockings made appearances during cocktails, many guests were unable to fully comply with the dress code.

"It's not my favorite time period — I was alive in the Eighties," admitted Lauren duPont, who nonetheless tried to coax her husband Richard's hair into a modified mohawk.

Alba Clemente had a more geographical reason for eschewing the style. "I tried to do punk tonight, but it didn't work," she said. "I was in India during that time period."

Guests like Calvin Klein, Mary Boone, Tom Sachs, Lou Reed, Fabiola Beracasa and Rufus Wainwright settled down for a dinner of arctic char while choreographer and the company's creative director Karole Armitage presented the first Gone! Awards to Jeff Koons and Earle Mack.

"I feel like I'm holding a vagina in a coupe," said Koons of his Bryan Hunt-designed statue.

Jamie Niven oversaw a live auction of works by David Salle and Julian Schnabel and a group of Armitage Gone! dancers performed a selection of pieces, including a duet to Jimi Hendrix's "Wild Thing."
