Neither Donald Trump nor Dubai are known for subtlety, so when the mogul hosted a fete in honor of the Middle Eastern metropolis' yet-to-be-opened Trump International Hotel & Tower on Monday night, festivities were, not surprisingly, anything but low-key.

The seven PR firms charged with planning the affair morphed the steps of a midtown office building into a dome-shaped party space complete with palm trees (both potted and costumed humans) and a planetarium-esque projection screen blasting advertisements for the new property.

"Dubai likes big," explained Ivanka Trump, mingling among Naomi Watts, Demi Moore and Heidi Klum. "You can't throw a party for something like this without pushing the envelope."

As he stood at the podium addressing the crowd, Trump bellowed, "Demi, get over here. You're so amazing. I've got to sell her an apartment."

Unfortunately for The Donald, the actress decided to stay put in her booth surrounded by bodyguards.
