When you are the go-to makeup artist for New York socials, it's safe to say a party thrown in your honor is guaranteed a good turn out.

Tuesday evening, Meredith Melling Burke, Lauren Santo Domingo, designer Aimee Cho and Karla Martinez hosted cocktails in honor of Mexican beautifier Alexa Rodulfo's first scented candle, Bois d'Alexa. A mix of editors and socials like Fabiola Beracasa, Zani Gugelmann and Eleanor Ylvisaker packed into Cho's Gryphon showroom to quaff Champagne and graze on platters of veggie hors d'oeuvres.

The best part of the evening? The lack of overpowering fumes that usually accompany a room blazing with perfumed candles.

Those who took a liking to the orange, nutmeg and other notes can look forward to an Eau de Parfum version of the scent.

"I loved it so much I used to rub the candle on myself," laughed Rodulfo. "A friend was like, what are you doing? Why don't you make a perfume?"
