The Stride Rite brand, owned by Collective Brands Inc., has teamed up with the American Academy of Pediatrics to produce a brochure titled “Your Baby’s First Steps.”
The guide provides parents with information about foot development, shoe shopping and safety tips for babies on the move. According to Malinda Freitas, assistant marketing manager for the Lexington, Mass.-based company, many pediatricians, as well as parents, are not aware of children’s footwear options in the market today. The brochure can serve as a guide for both physicians and new parents.
AAP-member doctors, a group composed of 60,000 primary-care pediatricians and surgical specialists, will carry the brochure for a slight fee through the organization.
