Loriblu’s Sweet 16
Loriblu recently opened its newest, 1,000-sq.-ft. flagship in Venice, Italy, making it the brand’s 16th boutique. The shop features a sleek, minimalist design, with materials meant to spotlight the footwear. “We are proud of this opening,” owner Annarita Pilotti said in a statement. “This is such a prestigious location, perfect for the image of our brand. This is our 16th store, and [it] allows us to be present in one of the most important and iconic Italian cities.” Next up, the brand plans to debut a location in Kuwait City, Kuwait, later this spring.
Tila March Heads Home
French accessories brand Tila March bowed a flagship in Paris, its second in the city’s Marais neighborhood. The 450-sq.-ft. store carries the label’s full assortment handbags and footwear, as well as items from the Tila March & David Hicks collaboration. "When we are opening a new store, I work on the design concept in the same way I design accessories for Tila March,” said owner and designer Tamara Taichman. “The concept behind opening this particular store was to combine the Tila March identity … with very strong design elements already in place. For example, the period floor tiles and the wooden arch found in the store were already in place, and we decided to preserve them.”
Chinese Laundry’s Lucky Seven
Chinese Laundry is about to take its branded store count up to seven. On April 15, the company will open its newest location, in Culver City, Calif. While continuing the same design theme as its other branded stores, the new location is significantly larger, clocking in at 2,500 square feet compared with the other stores that range from 1,000 to 1,200 square feet. “Culver City is changing, and we felt there was an opportunity for us in this great location,” said CEO Bob Goldman.
