Two Ten Footwear Foundation is hitting the fairway.
The Waltham, Mass.-based nonprofit is gearing up for its annual golf tournament, which will be held at the Alpine Country Club in Demarest, N.J., later this month.
After raising more than $90,000 for scholarships and financial aid for people in the shoe industry last year, Two Ten is hoping to match that figure in 2013, according to the event’s chair, David Stamberg, also president of Alpine Footwear Group.
Aside from funds raised for the organization’s charity efforts, Stamberg added there are other benefits to holding the event each May.
“Regardless of the money that comes in, it’s going to build industry camaraderie,” he said. “It’s a good opportunity to, not only come together for a good cause, but for socialization and friendly competition.”
Companies participating in the golf tournament include Kenneth Cole Productions, H.H. Brown, Nina Footwear, Brown Shoe, Camuto Group and Wolverine World Wide.
