Young women already have their shoe wish lists for fall merchandise ready. Footwear News recently asked a few New York pedestrians what they plan to buy, their favorite shopping haunts and just how far their budgets will take them.

Jaclyn Seabrooke
Residence:
New York
Shopping list: Wedge sneakers, Christian Louboutins and peep-toe pumps
Retail destinations: “I like Steve Madden and Nastygal.com. They sell a lot of Jeffrey Campbell there.”
Budget: “My normal high for shoes is around $200. However, a pair of red soles will be a gift to myself. I have more to spend this fall because I got a raise.”

Angel Lin
Residence:
New York
Shopping list: Riding boots, high-heeled ankle booties and Frye harness boots
Retail destinations: “Ralph Lauren store on Madison Avenue for equestrian looks and All Saints in Soho.”
Budget: “My budget is about the same as last year.  For boots I will have to spend in the mid-$100s to $300s.”

Alex Ellis
Residence:
San Francisco
Shopping list: Low-heeled booties, black patent pumps and brown leather flat boots
Retail destinations: Dolce Vita, Bloomingdale’s and Steve Madden
Budget: “I’m trying to keep it in the low $100 [range]. But for a good leather boot, I will go up to $150. I have more to spend this fall because I got better at saving.”

Andrea Casazza
Residence: New York
Shopping list:
Black leather boots, brightly colored pumps and Uggs
Retail destinations: Aldo, Zappos.com and Macy’s
Budget: “I have less to spend this year, most likely $200 or $300. I just started a new [commission-based] job, and it takes time to build up a clientele.”

Michelle Casazza
Residence: New York
Shopping list:
Low wedges, brown leather riding boots and lace-up booties on a low, chunky heel
Retail destinations: Lord & Taylor, Piperlime.com and Banana Republic
Budget: “I’m in a better position than last year. I [moved to an] apartment with lower rent, so I have about $300 to spend.”

Demara Vargas
Residence:
New York
Shopping list: Hunter boots, knee-high lace-up boots on a 3-inch heel, and pumps in nude, black or brown leather on a 3- to 4-inch heel
Retail destinations: Bebe, Aldo, Michael Kors, Century 21 and H&M
Budget: “About the same as last fall. However, when I see something I want, even if I don’t have the money, I can’t say no.”

Julia Testa
Residence:
New York
Shopping list: Christian Louboutin flat boots, Tory Burch flats and Uggs
Retail destinations: “Neiman Marcus. It’s where my boyfriend likes to shop. Also Nordstrom, Steve Madden and Macy’s.”
Budget: “About the same as last year. I will spend $150 to $200 a pair.”
