Fresh off her appearance at the FN Summit on Monday, Tabitha Simmons won the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design at the CFDA Awards tonight.
Since launching in 2009, the designer has made a big impression in the footwear business with her highly attuned styling eye, her street-cool style and British flair.

During a panel discussion Monday morning at the summit, which also featured designers Alessandra Lanvin and Laurence Dacade, Simmons told the crowd it was an honor to be nominated, although unexpected. “When they called me, I thought I was in trouble for turning in my ballot late,” she quipped.
“Tabitha has incredible taste, and clearly her experience as a stylist allows her to understand what women want and the proportions that make women look beautiful,” Daniella Vitale, chief merchant and EVP at Barneys New York, told Footwear News in a recent interview.
