Sanuk Taps Surfer Malia Manuel as Brand Ambassador

The professional athlete is the newest face of the California-based brand.

Sanuk, a division of Goleta, Calif.-based Deckers Outdoor Corp., has selected 20-year-old professional surfer Malia Manuel as the latest addition to its roster of brand ambassadors and athletes.

“We're incredibly stoked to welcome Malia to our family. Malia will provide an authentic female touch to Sanuk,” said Tommy Campagne, Sanuk's marketing manager, in a statement.

For her part, Manuel, who in 2008 became the youngest surfer to win the U.S. Open of Surfing, said she is “excited to join Sanuk and share with the world how comfortable and awesome the product is.”

Other surfers among Sanuk’s squad of brand ambassadors and athletes include Torrey Meister, Brett Barley, Alex Parker, Peter Mel and Philip Goold.

In addition to Sanuk, Manuel also rides for O'Neill, VonZipper and Mayhem Surfboards. She is widely recognized as one of her sport's most progressive and stylish stars.
