It’s no wonder Jessica Simpson has babies on the brain. Eight months after welcoming her first child, daughter Maxwell, the celebrity fashion mogul announced she is expecting again. And while her own family expands, so is her booming footwear empire. Now Simpson is adding a collection of baby shoes to her Stride Rite-produced children’s line, which already includes looks for young girls and tweens. “When Maxwell was born, I started to focus more on tiny sizes. I knew we needed to design shoes for babies,” Simpson told Footwear News. Set to launch this fall, Jessica Simpson Baby, under the Camuto Group umbrella, features such feminine looks as pink cheetah-print cowboy booties and satin Mary Jane shoes trimmed with bows and flower ornaments. Offered in sizes 1 to 4, the shoes are priced from $30 to $35. “The baby collection reflects my personal style and love of shoes,” said Simpson, noting she found design inspiration in her daughter’s own stylish closet. “Maxwell has a great clothing collection, so I wanted to create perfect shoes to match. She inspires me every day, and I can’t wait until she starts telling me what she wants to wear.” By Erin E. Clack
