In more ways than one, Jessica Jarrell is a Pastry girl. The pop singer has been a brand ambassador for the sneaker label for the past five years, appearing in its ad campaigns and putting on special performances. “It’s one of my favorite brands, and everyone is a family at Pastry. I was always wearing [men’s] sneakers and now it’s nice to have girly sneakers,” Jarrell said of the 7-year-old juniors’ label founded by designers and former reality stars Angela and Vanessa Simmons. Jarrell also is gearing up to launch her first album this year, with management company Das Group. And a music video from her first EP will debut by the end of the year. No surprise, it will likely feature the singer in a Pastry style. “I feel like I’ve come into my own on this project. Everything is really urban and represents who I am,” Jarrell said. Here, the songstress sounds off on her favorite pastry (of the dessert variety) and why harem pants will never make the cut in her wardrobe.

Guiltiest pleasure:
“I love pizza and any Italian food.”

Biggest footwear splurge: “I bought a pair of thigh-high boots at a boutique on Melrose [Avenue]. I love being able to wear sexy boots in the winter.”

Designers of choice:
“Joyrich or Jeremy Scott. I like that they take a lot of chances. It’s streetwear, but with great fashion.”

Music idols: “Beyoncé was a big inspiration for me growing up, and Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.”

Trend I’ll never try:
Harem pants. “They are not for me. I tried them once and it didn’t go so well.”

Favorite pastry: Donuts. “Otherwise, my favorite dessert is ice cream. If I could eat it as a meal, I would.”
