Expect more from ZZ Top. Guitarist Billy Gibbons said he and fellow band members are logging long hours recording the next, yet-to-be-named ZZ Top album, set to drop in spring. But fans shouldn’t worry, Gibbons said the album won’t be a departure from the band’s usual style, and he views that as a plus. “Trends may come and trends may go, but there is real value in maintaining tradition — both in music and fashion,” he said.
Work hard and play hard. HSN CEO Mindy Grossman manages to make time for some fun, and recently saw “The Ides of March” in theaters. “It was very good, but makes you decide you never want to be in politics,” she quipped. And this week, Grossman is traveling to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with her husband, and Scoop’s Stefani Greenfield (who also sells a curated collection on HSN) and Greenfield’s husband. “I’ve never been, I’m very excited,” she said.
Elyse Kroll has a lot on her plate these days. The ENK founder and president will debut ENK Milan in February and the second showing of the China clothing and accessories trade show is set for March. Kroll, who attended the Fashion Delivers Gala last week, was also eager to chat about the most compelling trends for spring and fall. “We are excited about lace and stretch leather, and I’m very excited about hosiery,” she said. “[Designers are] doing [hosiery] better. It’s sexy but in a subtle way — it’s wearable.”
