Family Affair
Salvatore Ferragamo Italia SpA sure knows how to attract a crowd. The label unveiled its refurbished Milan flagship on Via Montenapoleone Friday night, drawing big names ranging from actress Freida Pinto to model Karolina Kurkova. Major retailers, including Neiman Marcus' Ken Downing and Saks Fifth Avenue's Cody Kondo and Beth Kanfer, also were on hand. The Ferragamo clan had strong representation as well, and they were eager to talk about how the new store shines a spotlight on footwear. "It is an enhancement of our presence in Milano. It's a new layout and there is a lot of emphasis on the shoes. They have a much better presentation than ever before," said Leonardo Ferragamo, CEO of Palazzo Feroni Finanziaria SpA, his family's holding company. "We are very proud to show our customers the evolution of the line."

Stuart's Stars
Kate Moss touched down in Milan on Thursday evening to grace the courtyard party for Stuart Weitzman's glossy new Zaha Hadid-designed store — his fourth freestanding location in Italy and 100th globally. While the label’s new campaign video (featuring the supermodel channeling Brigitte Bardot in various over-the-knee boots) played in the background, guests such as Olivia Palermo and Bryan Boy made the rounds. The man of the hour was pleased, but somewhat nonplussed by the impressive scene. "Last season we used Natalia Vodianova," Weitzman said. "Kate saw, and I'm not sure if she was jealous or what, but she likes working with Mario Testino, [who shot the campaign]. I met her and she said she would give up her other shoe job if we would hire her," the designer quipped.

Rossi's Rookie
Kering-owned Sergio Rossi unveiled its first full collection by newly installed design director Angelo Ruggeri last Thursday. The grand Palazzo Cicogna provided a palatial backdrop for the presentation of the interior-influenced spring line. "I was inspired by the work of Maria Crespi, who was particularly famous for her work with lamps," Ruggeri said of the sculptural gold metal heels and ornate filigree stilettos. That evening, the festivities moved outside for an al fresco cocktail party.

Spotted: Selena Gomez in black pointy-toe Versace pumps with spiked silver heels at the label's runway show Friday night. The singer also drew a crowd of onlookers when she popped by Versace's boutique earlier in the day. And the public intrigue didn't stop there — dozens of fans (and paparazzi) camped out in front of the Principe hotel, where the 21-year-old stayed while in Milan.
