Keyshia Cole’s affinity for Steve Madden’s shoes began a decade ago.

“He had these bright neon-pink pumps that I wore to a movie premiere,” said the R&B singer. “I was in awe of how you could be affordable and stylish without jeopardizing a shoe’s quality. That’s what Steve’s shoe are to me.”

The feeling is mutual.

“We met at FFANY and clicked instantly,” Madden said. “She has one of the best voices in music and she’s just as passionate about shoes as I am.”

Here, in a Spy exclusive, Cole and Madden unveiled details of their second collection for spring: Think contrasting zebra patterns with neon patent leathers, graffiti prints and stiletto boots stacked with straps, gold plates and bling.

“I love vibrant colors and sexy styles, and [Steve] was really open to that,” Cole said. “That’s what the line is about: having fun, not taking things so seriously and taking risks.”
