Opposites attract. While Charline De Luca was gallery browsing and shopping during a recent New York trip, her other half was glued to the World Cup. “My husband is really happy I’m here, so he can watch the Italy games with his friends [at home],” said the Italian designer. During her quick Big Apple visit, De Luca showcased her colorful resort collection, inspired by travels to Kenya. “When you leave Africa, you feel nostalgic. The colors and the atmosphere [impact you],” she said. “This trip made me evolve the line into a more fun collection.” But the designer is ready to do a little nesting, too. “I just moved into a new house with my husband and got my dream closet,” she said. “When you open it, it lights up like Carrie Bradshaw’s.”
