The new Air Jordan landed last week — at New Jersey’s tiny Teterboro Airport to be exact. Renowned Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, decked out in a tweed suit and special tribute shoes for his favorite team, the Oregon Ducks, spoke to a small group of media types and revealed the Air Jordan 2012, the 27th version in the legendary line. While MJ himself was not on hand, his style instructions were: The new kicks took inspiration from wingtip dress shoes Jordan wears off the court, elevating basketball sneakers to new heights as only Mike can.
