After Hurricane Sandy destroyed homes and displaced thousands of residents along the East Coast last week, Soles4Souls and the shoe industry were quick to respond. The footwear charity, along with nonprofit Operation Compassion, donated roughly 10,000 pairs of shoes, including this early shipment being loaded onto a truck in Cleveland, Tenn. From there, the footwear was combined with other relief supplies and distributed to shelters and philanthropic organizations in impacted areas.
