The Footwear Distributors & Retailers of America has a new chairman.
At its annual luncheon in New York, the Washington, D.C.-based trade organization officially transitioned the duties to R.G. Barry Corp. CEO Greg Tunney from Wolverine World Wide Inc. CEO Blake Krueger.
“This is an organization I love and it makes a difference,” said Tunney, who was previously vice-chairman. “Everyone from the big players to the smaller companies gets to participate in it, and I don’t think there are a lot of industries that have that type of voice.”
Nick Grayston, SVP and president of footwear and home for Sears Holdings Inc., will assume the role of FDRA vice chairman. Both Tunney and Grayston will hold their new roles for the next two years.
“Greg Tunney and Nick Grayston will do a great job,” said Krueger, adding that he will still be involved in the organization, as well as serve on the boards of the Fashion Footwear Association of New York and the Two Ten Footwear Foundation. “I owe a lot to the industry and there are a lot of ways for me to give back in terms of time.”
