QVC presents "FFANY shoes on sale"
Oct. 22, 2012

Cause and effect. The 19th annual Shoes on Sale breast cancer fundraiser brought together some of the biggest names in the business last Monday at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Vince Camuto reminisced about his early memories of Lord & Taylor, while presenting the department store with the Retailer of the Year Award. "I used to walk by Lord & Taylor every day on my way to work at I. Miller. It is amazing to give this award to a friend," said the footwear veteran, who handed the honor to Liz Rodbell, EVP and chief merchant for parent Hudson's Bay Co. "The footwear industry is the best industry in retail," Rodbell said in her acceptance speech. Kristin Cavallari (a guest of Chinese Laundry), introduced Tory Burch, who spoke from the heart about her late friend Evelyn Lauder, being honored posthumously with the Jodi Fisher Humanitarian Award. (Dr. Larry Norton from Lauder's Breast Cancer Research Foundation accepted the award.) But it wasn't all serious during the night. FFANY President and CEO Joe Moore, who sported two-toned saddle shoes by H.H. Brown to open the event, said, "I was sure I would win best in shoes tonight, but I was barred from entering."
