Brown Shoe Taps New CFO

Former Crocs finance head replaces Mark Hood.

Brown Shoe Co. has a new financial chief.
As of June 11, Russ Hammer will replace Mark Hood as CFO of the St. Louis-based firm, it said late Tuesday.
Hammer was previously CFO of Crocs Inc., where he led the company’s restructuring efforts and supported its turnaround, before he left to become CFO of Orbitz Worldwide. Prior to Crocs, Hammer was CFO of several business units at Motorola Inc.
In a statement, Brown Shoe President and CEO Diane Sullivan said, “We appreciate [Mark’s] contributions toward executing the first phase of our portfolio realignment, and this corporate-wide effort has already resulted in a significant improvement in our first-quarter adjustedearnings per diluted share.”
She added, “With [Russ’] more than 30 years of finance experience, I’m confident he will be able to make an immediate contribution across the company and to the work we’ve been completing in our portfolio realignment efforts.”
