Bob Campbell was the man of the hour earlier this week.
The BBC International chairman and CEO received the Monsignor John T. Fagan Humanitarian Award at a dinner in New York on Wednesday. The fundraiser raised $300,000 in support of Little Flower Children & Family Services of New York, a charity for disadvantaged children. Campbell has been a supporter for 25 years.
“[My favorite part of the evening] was the people — seeing so many of my friends supporting this great cause. And the food was incredible,” said Campbell. “I feel very honored to be part of this great organization and to be selected as the first recipient [of] the Humanitarian Award.”
Former soap opera actress and longtime friend Susan Lucci, who also works with Little Flower, presented the honor to Campbell.
“We don’t get to see each other that much, so it was great catching up with her and her husband, Helmutt. I have known her and her family for more than 25 years as neighbors and friends,” Campbell said.
The namesake of the dinner, Monsignor John T. Fagan, was involved with Little Flower for more than four decades and served as the organization’s director.
